YANGON, Nov. 26 (Xinhua)-- Ten Myanmar amateur directors will compete in Japan-Mekong film competition to be held in Ibusuki and Kagosheema in Japan in the first week of December under the cultural exchange program of Myanmar and Japan, a local weekly reported Friday.
Organized by the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths, about 100 such amateur artists from 10 countries will take part in the contest, the Biweekly Eleven quoted the Myanmar Motion Picture Enterprise as saying.
Representing Myanmar, 10 youth directors will compete with their respective films with English subtitles and narration comprising "Me and My Family", "Silent Family", "Family", "Home Sweet Home", "The One of the Perfectness Family", "White Souls Present Family", "What's Family", "Open with Love".
In 2009, 18 Myanmar directors took part in such event.
Myanmar and Japan have been cooperating closely in the culture sector. In December last year, a Japanese film festival was held in Yangon and Mandalay under the program, in which four famous Japanese films, namely "Turn Over", "Blue", " Breathe in, Breath out" and "A Scene at the Sea" were screened for four days.
