BEIJING, July 27 (Xinhuanet) -- Chinese kung-fu film "Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen", directed by Andrew Lau and starring Donnie Yen and Shu Qi, will be one of the two opening films of the 67th Venice International Film Festival this September, Chinafilm.com reports.
With an investment of 120 million yuan (17.7 million U.S. dollars), "The Return of Chen Zhen" follows the story from the 1994 film "Fist of Legend" starring Jet Li. The hero, Chen Zhen, kills the Japanese martial-arts master and the general who murders his master, Huo Yuanjia. That is also the premise for "Fist of Fury" (1972) starring Bruce Lee as Chen Zhen.
American film "Black Swan" starring Natalie Portman is the other opening film.
