BEIJING, July 21 (Xinhuanet) -- U.S. actress Lindsay Lohan will serve only about 14 days of her 90-day sentence due to prison overcrowding, media reported Wednesday.

"She is scheduled to be released on either Aug. 1 or 2 for overcrowding issues and good behavior," L.A. Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore told PEOPLE.

Earlier this month, she was sentenced to 90 days in prison and 90 days in-patient rehab for violating her 2007 probation.

Because Lohan is a nonviolent offender, she is eligible to serve only 25 percent of her already reduced time of 51 days, which was brought down from 90 days because of overcrowding, Steve Whitmore told the Times.

Lohan, 24, is serving her time alone in a cell.
