BEIJING, July 6 (Xinhuanet) -- Chinese film actor Jia Hongsheng jumped to death from an apartment building in Beijing on Monday, the Beijing News reported.

Jia Hongsheng was found dead on the trunk of a car from Building 19 at the Anyuan Beili Community in Chaoyang District around 6:00pm. Police later roped off the site and an investigation is underway.

The report didn't specify the reasons behind the incident.

The actor became famous in China after starring in several films throughout the 1990's. He started to fade from public view after suffering from problems related to drug abuse.
