DAMASCUS, April 3 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese movie week kicked off Saturday in Damascus, with six newly-produced Chinese movies to be presented during the week.
The festival, co-hosted by General Organization for Cinema of Syria and Chinese Embassy in Damascus, will present the "Forever Enthralled," "Hutong Days," "Painted Skin," "IP Man," which reflect Chinese traditional culture and common people's life, and the opening movie is "Walking to School" by Chinese director Peng Chen.
The movie week is held both in Damascus and Syria's coastal city Lattakia from April 3 to 8.
Muhammad Ahmaad, head of General Organization for Cinema of Syria, told Xinhua that the movie week will boost the bilateral cultural cooperation and deepen the understanding between the people of the two countries.
Syria launched the Syrian movie week in March 2009 in China's Beijing and central city of Wuhan, during which five Syrian movies were presented.
