BEIJING, Sept. 30 -- The Los Angeles Lakers forward Lamar Odom insists that his wedding to Khloe Kardashian was real, despite reports that it was a non-binding ceremony, media reports said on Wednesday.

    "It's crazy how perception works in America when you're looking at things from the outside," Odom, 29, said at a press conference at the Lakers media day Wednesday.

    Odom, who tied the knot with the 24-year-old reality TV star Khloe Kardashian on Sunday after a one-month courtship, didn't want to talk about the wedding and appeared annoyed with questions focusing on the ceremony, though he did say that "anybody that was there will tell you that it was a beautiful event and it was real."

    As for the honeymoon, the couple will have to postpone their trip. Lamar Odom will be joining his teammates at a training camp on Wednesday, with the preseason beginning Oct. 7 in a game against the Golden State Warriors.
