5. defy v.（公然） 违抗
英语中几个表示“反抗、抵抗”的词：
defy 指公开地、勇敢地反对或抵抗，有时含有公然挑衅的意思。
oppose 普通用词，克表示不同程度的抵抗。
resist 指积极地反抗一种攻击、暴力或诱惑。
The workers defied the management and went on a strike.
